Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta hosts Take That star Howard Donald

Take That star Howard Donald will join a host of big names to perform at Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta.

Howard, 54, is an accomplished DJ away from his tour with the manband. The weekend event will take place between Friday September 23 and Sunday September 25, with other artists scheduled including Scouting for Girls, Craig Charles, Gabrielle, Heather Small, BoyzLife and Symphonic Ibiza and party band Huge .

The three-day event will be the biggest balloon and music festival in the north of England. It will take place at Knavesmire based next to York Racecourse.

The family event will also feature Brainiac Live performing their outrageous science experiments and daredevil stunts. Andy and the Odd Socks, from CBBC’s hit show Andy and The Band, and fellow CBBC star YolanDa will be there to entertain the little ones.

More than 50 hot air balloons will appear at the festival, including the return of Europe’s distinctive balloon ship with many other eye-catching lined up. There will also be a chance to meet balloon pilots, a daredevil stunt show, birds of prey displays, the world’s largest inflatable obstacle course will be there.

The festival finale will include a fireworks display on Sunday evening. Balloon Fiesta organizer John Lowery said: “We are absolutely delighted to have so many big names in our music lineup for 2022. As well as the incredible spectacle of the balloons themselves, we also have our best ever lineup. of activities and displays for the whole family to enjoy over the three days and we moved our stage to the middle of the event, facing the A64, to give everyone a better experience. We encourage visitors to book well in advance to ensure they can get the full Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta experience.

The 2021 Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta welcomed over 60,000 visitors. The event organizers have also donated £1 from every ticket sold to three local charities and will do the same in 2022 to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, York Rescue Boat and St Leonard’s Hospice.
