Limited hot air balloon and paragliding flights in the city ahead of PM Modi’s visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Pune district of Maharashtra on March 6 to launch several development programs including the city’s new Matro rail service. For safety reasons, the city administration has banned all hot air balloon flights and adventure sports like paragliding. As per the order of Pune District Commissioner Rajesh Deshmukh, the restriction will be enforced from midnight March 5 to midnight March 6. The written order also states that people who disobey the orders will be punished accordingly. “Legal action will be taken against anyone who violates the order under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code,” the order reads.

Pune Metro

PM Modi will report on metro rail services in Pune. The Prime Minister will take a tour on Sunday from Garware station to Vanaz station as part of the inauguration ceremony, after the opening of train services to the general public. Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MahaMetro) has received a safety clearance certificate from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) to operate the Pune Metro on a 12 km route from Vanaz to Garware College, PCMC to Phugewadi.
