Excitement is building for the popular Telford Balloon Fiesta

With just a week to go before the Telford Balloon Fiesta opens at the QE11 Arena in Telford Town Park, Telford & Wrekin Council are delighted to announce the weekend’s highlight events.

As part of the new music night lineup on Friday 26 August, visitors can look forward to music from local legends Dirty Rockin Scoundrels, as well as party band Gineva, Rick Cosco and Dutch progressive rock band Focus – who are in the middle of their European tour.

Saturday and Sunday will see the popular early morning and evening hot air balloon flights – weather dependent. Plus, a host of entertainment includes live music from the Shropshire Music Awards, a flight simulator and motorcycle display teams that will wow the crowds. On Sunday, the Carnival Parade will feature spectacular performances, dancing and costumes and visitors can enjoy Circus Sensible’s circus-themed performance and a family entertainment pipe.

“With over 25 balloons on hand for the weekend, we very much hope that this Balloon Fiesta will be the biggest and best yet. There will be lots of family activities, music and dance performances and we are planning an absolutely fantastic weekend. This is a high point in Telford & Wrekin Council’s calendar of events as we know it attracts regional visitors as well as thousands of our borough residents. The Council’s ‘by your side’ investment includes a £750,000 commitment to our events program to ensure we continue to provide a range of activities for residents and attract visitors to the area”.
