By the end of this year, Salinians will have one less place to shop for party supplies and Halloween costumes, as the city’s Party City store is set to close.
A public post on Facebook by Jamie Galimore, who lists her work on her profile as Store Manager for Party City, said the store will close later this year.
Additionally, signs at 2855 Market Place showed that balloon orders and deliveries will no longer be taken after May 15 at the Salina store.
“I strongly encourage (encourage) all of our customers to pick up what you need for the upcoming celebrations, especially graduation, soon,” Gailmore’s post read. “I want to thank all of our amazing customers for supporting us and my fantastic staff for all they have done so far. with a bang!”
An email sent to the Party City offices was returned by Marisa Molbogot of Vault Communications, a public relations firm in Philadelphia. The only information she could confirm was a closing date of July 23, 2022.
When asked for more details, including a reason for the store’s closure, Molbogot said she was “unable to provide any additional information at this time.”
The doors to Party City were open and a few customers were shopping at the Salina location Monday morning.
An option to shop online at the Salina location was still available Monday afternoon on the Party town website and it lists the store’s hours of operation as 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
